I suck at blogging.

I can't decide if I suck at blogging because my life is too busy and exciting, or if I literally have nothing to write about because my life is so lame. I'd like to lean toward the first choice, but I'm not 100% sure that would be telling the truth. But this is the internet, so who cares about truth? Hahaha :)

[Maybe I could say I've been spending all my time at the beach so that's why I haven't had time to blog...? hahahahaha. But seriously, I love the beach. I wish I lived closer to it.]

Basically, to sum it all up: I finished my Freshman year at BYU! :D I survived! And I did pretty well! so YAY FOR SARAH. That deserves some Tillamook Mudslide Ice Cream. Which is conveniently located in the garage freezer, look at that!

Also, I got into the Photography program. NBD. It's not like super hard to get into or anything...not like I tried twice...not like I did my super excited happy dance when I found out. Nahhh. [sarcasm font implied.]

I have finally caught up on the TV show Community. This is good and bad. Now I can't watch episodes I've never seen before, but I can say that I've seen every episode of Community now! Garrett kind of made me start watching it at school, and I have never once regretted this. Hahaha :)

DISNEYLAND. I went there. Again. I don't think I have an obsession or a problem. .......umm... ANYWAY. Madison Fosse and I drove down and went together the last week of April to celebrate being done with Freshman year! It was really super exciting and fun :) We only had one creeper experience! That was quite an accomplishment I believe.

I got a half tuition scholarship for next year! :D That made me REALLY REALLY REALLY happy. Like a lot. Because I freaking worked my butt off to get good grades, so I deserve a stinking scholarship. Hahaha :P But yeah. Cool stuff right there.

Oh, yeah, another super cool thing. I GOT A CAR. Well, my dad bought a car and conveniently I get to drive it all the time and I'll take it with me to Utah in the Fall. And by paying my own tuition, I will get to keep the car! :D My dad is the best. He loves me lots. :)

I've been reading a lot lately too! It's fun. :) I recently read this book called Mistborn (by Brandon Sanderson) and it was super good. It's a fantasy book, and there are 2 more in the series that I haven't read yet. And I also read Room, which was way way way good. More like the books I always read. Haha :P I have a long list of books to read this summer though, thanks to Garrett and Madison. Hahaha.

I'm nannying again this summer, but for a different family. So far, it's been pretty fun. :) Tiring, but the kids are cute!

Skype has become one of my new best friends since coming home. I miss lots of people a lot, and Skyping with them so I can see their faces is super nice. Texting is nice and all, but it's kind of a dumb form of communication that frustrates me a lot really. So I'm super glad Skype is available for talking to my friends that don't live in California. They live in other states, like Washington, Missouri, Oregon, and dumb Virginia (it's dumb because it is too far away). I hope I survive the summer...

Well, I think that's about it for now...I know there is a lot more I could say, but this is about all I feel like saying for now. So buh-bye!

One year older and wiser too!

[I'm getting caught up on my blog because I realize I haven't posted in practically a month...life has been a little crazy lately, hahaha]

Ok, I'm not sure about the wiser part, but...
Yesterday was  my birthday! :D I'm 19 now, which means I'm super old and should start using old people wrinkle cream for my face. [bahahaha :P]

It was such a good day; so many good things happened! :D

In my physical science lab, my TA told us we don't have to turn in hw ever again this semester for that class because she is so far behind on grading. :D and at 11:12, the class sang happy birthday to me, because that was the exact time that I was born 19 years ago, haha. Everyone just sang their favorite birthday song all at the same time, so it was less awkward and boring than the regular Happy Birthday song. hahah. :)

And then for lunch, Garrett took me to the Pendulum Court Cafe on campus. Even though we had to wait a super long time because the chicken was taking forever to cook, it was totally worth the wait because it was delicious! And then we were even on time for our American Heritage lab. [that takes talent. we ate in like 7 minutes in order to do that. hahahaha]

Blair decorated my door for my birthday, it's super exciting. Hahaha

I think she did a pretty great job. :D hahaha

And she gave me a flower and chocolate, which are two of my favorite things! :D

My friends all gave me really great presents because they're so awesome. :D

Garrett gave me earrings [which are really super cool because some of them are handmade] and chocolate! [I think people know how much I like chocolate......hahah :P] He's the greatest :)

McLane and Thaddeus got me a Disney Princess coloring book and fudge from the bookstore!

[this also came with a card from Thaddeus. Which was about surviving cancer. All tied together the black bow. hahaha :P]

And my family sent me the best packages ever! :D On Wednesday, I got a box of Sprinkles cupcakes!!! If you don't know what Sprinkles cupcakes are, something is wrong with you. Or you just don't know what a good cupcake tastes like. Hahah. But seriously, my mom is the best. She packaged them so well, they arrived in Utah almost perfect! They told her not to ship them too, hahah :P

They are so delicious. I have eaten almost half of them already. Hahaha....I know that's not good for me, but I don't care :P

On my birthday, I got another package! It had an "I <3 Sprinkles" shirt in it and a Disneyland lanyard with a bunch of Belle pins on it :D Plus a unicorn one. hahaha. But I love the shirt, it's so comfy. I'm wearing it today....hahaha :)

I got to Skype with my bestest friend ever, Lindsay Belden! :) She makes me smile and I miss her so much and I can't wait for this summer when I'll be able to see her face in person again and go on exciting adventures! :D

And then, after going on a walk with Garrett, we went to the Hunger Games midnight premier! :D :D :D I went with Garrett, Dalton, Brianna, Duncan, and Diana. We got in line at 9:30 and our movie started at 12:43, so we had to wait for a little while...but it was fun! We played Phase 10 for a little bit and talked about how to strategically get the best spots in the theater, showing no mercy towards the little 11 year old boys in front of us, you know, the usual stuff. Haha. And it wasn't even that cold! Which made me happy, because I turn into a popsicle so easily... And my hands are perpetually freezing :P But the movie was SO good. I really really liked it a lot. I think they did a great job condensing the book down into a 2 hour movie. There were some things that I had wished they included or emphasized more, but it was still really good regardless. :) And then I got home at 3:30am and was so tired. I suck at being a college student; I can't stay up much later than 1am during the week :P But I still got 6 hours of sleep! I think I may have got a cold or something last night though, because my nose has been sniffley all day and I feel more congested...but it was totally worth it. haha. :)

And that's about it! It was a long but really amazing day. :)

DISNEYLAND! :D

Two weeks ago, I got to go to Disneyland with my family :D It was suuuuuuper fun :)

Wednesday, I flew to Long Beach with Rachel and Chris and then we went to the park Thursday morning, waiting for the rest of the family to get there [they were driving down from SF that morning]

So we did lots of fun typical Disneyland stuff and I had such a good time and I'm glad I got to see my family!
It was like my own little miniature spring break [especially since BYU doesn't actually have a spring break. haha]

I was very tired by the time I got back on Saturday afternoon, but it was definitely worth it! Even though I had to miss two days of school [and I never ever skip class, so this was a big deal] it definitely helped me stay sane these past two weeks, which have been insaneeeeee.

Pictures! :D because pictures are my favorite [surprise! hahahaha] :)

yeah...cute stuff right there...

YMCA!

"There's always money in the banana stand."

YMCA! again!

*smolder*

...tehehehe. :P

jacob.....bahahaha

:)

mommy!

yeah, I made these lego people. They're cool.

World of Color!

I love my family and I love Disneyland! :)

Big dumb girl.

Sometimes, I wish I could turn off my girl emotions and just be reasonable; not over thinking and over analyzing everything. Life would just be so much easier and less....stressful? Maybe stressful isn't the word I'm looking for... I guess I just worry too much about things that don't need to be worried about. It's totally unreasonable! And a direct result of my dumb girl tendencies. *sigh* maybe boys should work on being more in tune with dumb girl worries as well though...that would be nice. Haha :P

And on another dumb girl note-- McLane was taking off her makeup tonight, talking about how its weird how much makeup she wears (which isn't THAT much...compared to me...haha). Then we thought it would be interesting if I took off ALL of my makeup to see how much of a difference it was, because I never actually take everything off my face. That just takes forever. Hahaha. The end result is kind of weird. And my eyelashes feel super weird. And light. :P

Anyway, I should get some sleep. I'm pretty dang tired. That's probably the only reason I'm actually willing to put up this picture. Haha. Enjoy it while it lasts.....!

Exciting Happenings

1. I took my Physical Science test for unit 2 and I did pretty well on the multiple choice part. I got an 87%, meaning I only missed 4 questions! And for me, that's pretty dang good. I suck at taking multiple choice tests. Generally. So this was a major accomplishment. And improvement from the first test. hahaha. :)

2. I got the RA job! So I'm going to be an RA in Helaman Halls next year :) This mostly makes me excited because it means I don't have to pay for food or housing next year, and I can stop stressing about where I'm going to live next year. hahah :) PLUS there is a slight chance that my dad will let me get a car for next year when I'm home working all summer. Depending on insurance costs and whatnot. [I'm still working on convincing him...haha.]

3. Last weekend, I was so cultured. Thaddues, Brandon, Mike, Garrett and I went to McLane's BYU Singers concert on Friday night. They sang like 21 songs. It was supposed to be 5 hours long, but luckily it got out 3 hours early [hahaha]. And then McLane, Thaddeus, Garrett and I went to the BYU Philharmonic concert on Saturday night. That was super fun, but it made me miss being in band kind of a lot...they played this super long and cool song by Strauss, and by super long, I mean 45 minutes. Hahaha. It was good though :)

4. THIS SEMESTER IS HALF OVER. thank goodness.

5. My wonderful and lovely and marvelous and great and talented sister, Rachel, finished my skirt that I started making (like 2 years ago...haha) and altering this dress to be modest for me! I'M SO EXCITED TO GET THEM FROM HER. She's the best. I love her a lot.

6. Madison and I made these apple pie things we found on pinterest! they actually tasted pretty good, but definitely needed ice cream. we were too lazy to go get it though. haha. we should have added more sugar and cinnamon, we'll keep that in mind for future reference! and they were pretty easy, which made me happy!

7. My little brother (who isn't so little anymore...) said that he loved me. ON FACEBOOK. on his wall. where all of his friends can see. Seriously, one of the happiest moments of my life. Hahaha. so of course I had to take a picture...... :) i love him, he's so great.

8. Garrett gave me Lindt chocolate for Valentine's day. It's my favorite. He's the best. :)

9. My dad sent me a package (from Amazon...haha) as a surprise! It had some pretty great stuff in it. Like a 32GB memory card, another battery for my camera, and an Orson Scott Card book- Pathfinder. :) The book is so great, I'm about halfway done with it. I want to just finish it, but I don't have any extra time...grr.

10. I have tickets to go to the last BYU Men's Chorus concert of the year! It's not for another month, but still. I'm excited! I heard Thaddeus Wright is in Men's Chorus, so maybe I'll see him there. hahaha :P

11. I got 17 out of 20 on my first draft of my American Heritage essay. I didn't think it was that good, haha. So that's a plus! Hopefully I can improve it now....haha. :P

12. This past weekend, Garrett finally taught me how to play Settlers of Catan, so I can now say that I have played it before! Apparently I was deprived or something because I had never played it before....haha. I'm not good at it though. But winning isn't that important to me anymore, I've accepted the fact that I am just going to lose most of the time. (It makes winning that much more exciting!) Hahaha :)

13. I'M GOING TO BE IN DISNEYLAND 2 WEEKS FROM TODAY. I honestly cannot wait. Well, that's a lie (oops....2 Nephi 9:34...dang) because I CAN wait, I just don't want to. hahaha. But I get to see my family and go to Disneyland for a weekend; it will be the best. My dad is my favorite for buying my plane ticket to fly to LA and go to Disneyland with them :)

14. My birthday is in a month minus a day.

15. The weather in Utah has been surprisingly beautiful for winter. Like, Tshirt weather some days. It's kind of crazy, a little concerning, but you know what? I'm not complaining. I like it. :) Randomly it will snow though...and that's weird. haha. but it usually melts within a day, so it's not too bad.

I think that's about all for now! :)

[tehehe. I miss my best friend Lindsay. I don't have anyone to just stand and laugh at me while I do dumb things like this anymore...hahaha]

Update!

My life has been pretty crazy and busy these past few weeks, so I haven't had time to write about anything that's happened yet! So hopefully I don't forget anything in this post. Haha :)

Ok, I think the biggest and most importantest thing that happened this past week was that Garrett and I started dating. Officially. Haha. :) He's super great and I like him a lot. And yeah. It's good :) Except for the fact that he doesn't think Target Lady from SNL is funny. That could be an issue...haha, just kidding (justkiddingjustkiddingjustkidding) :P

We made cards for Meals on Wheels at FHE this week. It was super exciting. Haha. :)

On Thursday night we went to the BYU Gonzaga basketball game and it was so good, mostly because we won. and Madison and I got pizza afterwards. hahaha. Totally worth going two hours early. And it kind of makes up for the St. Mary's game last week...that was just bad...But I like going to basketball games a lot. I'm sad they are almost over :( Then I'll have to start going to Cameron's baseball games! And those might be slightly boring compared to basketball...no offense to baseball fans. :P

This week I took my first test of the semester! For physical science. I felt pretty prepared because this was the physics section and I understood everything, but I didn't do as well as I had thought when taking the test... Hopefully the written part went well though. We'll just have to see I guess.

Since starting my drawing class, I have discovered that I don't suck at drawing as much as I had thought I did. It is kind of exciting, haha. And I got a 95% on my first project, which was exciting!

Drawing using only vertical lines of different values

Same type of assignment as the one above.

We used transfer/ blender pens to transfer xerox copies of gears onto our paper and then had to draw into it, so I decided to add robots to mine... I still need to add more, but I like how it's turning out. :)

Hmm, what else...oh! So I was sitting next to this guy in my business entrepreneurship class and afterwards he was walking out of the building the same way I was and then he was talking to me and it was sufficiently awkward, and then it just got more awkward when he asked for my phone number so we could work on projects for the class together ("or *cough* hang out sometime.......") and I felt like I couldn't say no (I need to work on that...gahh) so yeah...this could put me in a potentially even more awkward situation if he tries to ask me out or anything in the future.... *sigh* hopefully that doesn't happen though. haha.

Another thing I just remembered! I started practicing piano again :) Well, I've done it the past two days and we'll see if it continues, but it makes me happy :) I forgot how relaxing it is. And how much it helps me clear my mind when I am trying to think of too many things at once. Now I just wish I had brought more music with me... :P

Last weekend Rachel and Chris came to visit me! It was really exciting :) We went to Legends Grill for lunch with McLane and it was "super delicious!" And we went on campus so Chris could meet up with an old professor, Rachel and I just walked around campus for a little bit while he was doing that. It was fun :) I like that they live close to me so I can see them more often, especially since I live so far away from the rest of my family. :)

Random side note: my hair is getting really long (yay!), but that means now I need to use even more conditioner so I run out of it really fast...and it makes me sad. That was my deep thought of the night. Haha.

And I think that's about all I have to say for today! :)

(As a prize for reading my blog [which is oh-so-important...hahaha], you get to see this little gem of a picture from my childhood. I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to laugh all you want. I certainly do. Hahaha)

sorry Rachel, but I just had to use this one...haha.

When I'm bored...

I don't usually do homework if I feel bored already. Because that makes me even more bored. And I'm likely to get nothing done always. Haha. So instead, I find random things in my room that I forgot I had! Like my rubik's cube! :D so I stayed up an extra 45 minutes playing with it tonight...no regrets. and that is all I have to say about that. Hahaha.
Oh! And the BYU v St. Mary's game was tonight....it was so bad (well, the refs were). I got a little upset while watching it... Just a little...haha. but we had a fun group, so it was ok. Well, the waiting for an hour and a half in the Marriott center before the game part was fun. :P

And now I should actually go to bed and be responsible....
*sigh*
I'll write a real post about more stuff soon. :)
